Gretsch G9200 Boxcar Resonator, Round Neck, Natural

The Gretsch G9200 Boxcar Resonator with Round Neck in Natural finish marks a return to the original resonator designs for Gretsch guitars, and gives you a loud acoustic instrument perfect for delta blues and ragtime. With its Gretsch Ampli-Sonic? aluminium cone mounted to a warm sounding mahogany body, here is a guitar that will deliver loud and authentic resonator tones. This is a reissue of a 1930s design with a ‘long-body’ construction and a comfortable soft v-neck profile; it is made to capture the voice of the past generation of blues and ragtime musicians. If you’re looking for a professional resonator performance at an affordable price, the Boxcar won’t disappoint.

Gretsch Roots Collection

The G9200 Boxcar Resonator comes from the Gretsch Roots Collection which aims to resurrect classic designs from past generations and bring their unique tones to the modern stage. The G9200 round neck is perfect for creating the loud and metallic tones of delta blues. If you need a unique tonal addition to your guitar collection, or simply want to explore the delta-blues sound, here is the ideal instrument to let you do so.

“More Powerful Than a Locomotive!”

The G9200 features the Gretsch Ampli-Sonic™ diaphragm (resonator cone) which is hand-spun in Eastern Europe and crafted from nearly 99 percent pure aluminium. This creates the resonator’s distinct metallic overtones and delta-blues sound. It is mounted to a mahogany body; a wood chosen for its warmth and projection. The mahogany neck and katalox fingerboard provide additional sustain and dark resonance. If you’re familiar with the delta-blues sound, this guitar will allow you to recreate it in a powerful and authentic way.

Comfortable Playing And Traditional Good Looks

The G9200 Boxcar features a round-back neck with a soft v-neck profile to fit comfortably in your left hand. The semi-gloss finish allows for smooth transitions along the neck. The body features traditional f-holes and is finished in a lovely natural colour to let the beauty of the mahogany show through. With its traditional design features, the G9200 Boxcar wouldn’t look out-of-place from many decades ago in the Mississippi delta, and will give you authentic and powerful tones.
